Wounded Haven Counseling

Maura McBreen, MS, LMFT
Marriage and Family Therapist
Maura is the owner of Wounded Haven Counseling, located in lower North Mankato. For over a decade, Maura has gained experience and passion working with all age groups with attachment and trauma injuries. Attachment directly impacts how individuals connect with others. Maura has specialty training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Anchored Relational Therapy (formerly AIR Network), Enhanced trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) as well as earning her Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate in 2017. She enjoys working with family systems and providing a “youthful” approach to issues impacting children, parents and families. Much of her early clinical experience was through the lens of play therapy and child development. Although Maura is a marriage and family therapist, many of her clients come to therapy on an individual basis.

She has a special interest in empowering women, often working closely with women to improve self confidence, communication and helping them step into their innate power. When Maura is not wearing her therapist hat, she focuses on being a mom to her two sons, spending time with her husband and finding adventures as a family of four.
